Swab & Well Cleanout Operations
At Somer International Drilling, we execute swab and well cleanout operations with an engineering-driven approach to safely restore well production and protect long-term well performance.
For each well, operation plans are developed based on reservoir characteristics, fluid properties, and existing well completion configurations.

1
Swab-Assisted Well Cleanout
Fluids, solids, and flow restrictions accumulated within the wellbore over time are safely and controllably removed using swab units. During operations, well pressure is continuously monitored to prevent formation damage. The primary objective is to restore the well’s natural flow capability.
2
Production Testing
Following swab operations, well flow rate, pressure behavior, and production characteristics are measured in detail. The acquired field data is used to determine the actual production potential of the well and to develop forward-looking production scenarios. These tests support data-driven decision-making aimed at maximizing return on investment.
3
Downhole Fluid Cleanout
Paraffin, scale, solids, and other fluid-related issues that negatively impact production are removed to improve wellbore flow paths. These operations extend the service life of downhole equipment and prevent unplanned shutdowns, while maintaining well integrity throughout the cleaning process.
4
Production Start-Up and Commissioning
Newly drilled wells or wells returning to production after intervention are brought online in a gradual and controlled manner. Pressure imbalances and equipment-related risks during initial production phases are closely monitored to ensure stable and sustainable operating conditions.
5
Performance Monitoring and Optimization
Post-operation well behavior is continuously monitored, and production data is systematically analyzed. Where required, flow-enhancing or loss-reducing operational optimizations are implemented to ensure maximum production efficiency from each well.
